Sarah Ursula standing tall again (March 2010)

** For confidential reasons, we have used a fictitious name for this patient.

Sarah was spending her Christmas vacation last year in Dallas, Texas with her husband and their 6-month old baby. They were greeted by the coldest winter ever in Dallas. It snowed on Christmas Day and their car skidded and overturned on the highway. Everyone in the car was not hurt except Sarah. She immediately became paralyzed from the waist down. She sustained a spinal cord injury at L1 and had a fusion surgery. Hoping to stand and walk again, she came to our clinic on Feb 8, 2010 on a wheelchair and joined our “On My Feet” program – an integrated program of scalp acupuncture, body acupuncture, and physical therapy. Salar Sohrabi is well and pain-free now (March 2010)

Salar was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. As a result, he suffers from extreme scoliosis (over 120 degrees) that severely affects his breathing and his heart, and he has constant back pain.

With the support of his uncle and many generous helpers, Salar underwent a spinal surgery on Jan 28, 2010. For more details, please visit Salar’s website at www.helpsalar.com/updates. Because of the extensive correction done, Salar had much pain and discomfort after the surgery, and could not sit nor stand straight for more than a few minutes. He visited our clinic on Feb 13, 2010 to seek treatment for his pain and rehabilitation.

Dr. Zhu, Dr. Moyee and Khan, our Exercise Physiologist, attended to Salar and prescribed him a series of scalp and body acupuncture, herbal treatment and exercise regimen for his recovery. Salar visited our clinic three times a week over a period of one month. Salar made remarkable improvements in his lung capacity, skeletal posture, muscle strength, and overall energy. He is now well and pain-free, and is sight-seeing around the States before returning to his home in Iran.

Sophie is walking...

Sophie Nguyen suffered from a spinal cord damage which caused her loss of motor and sensory functions in her lower limbs, as well as the control of bowel movement and urination. She was told to be wheelchair bound for the rest of her life.

After receiving daily treatment at our clinic and intense exercise routine for approximately a year, not only did Sophie regain her sensations in her legs but she has made remarkable improvement – she can now walk with the help of a walker!
